The Footwashing Series
On the eve of Valentine's Day, 2022, I sat down and asked God what it looked like to be His beloved. I drew an image of Jesus kneeling and washing the feet of His Bride.
Days later, as I burnt my dinner at the stove, I saw the same image, but hundreds of different people sitting on the stool having their feet washed by Jesus. "Lord, is that you? And if it is...are you sure?" I asked, knowing how controversial it would be.
Convinced it was Jesus, I started drawing. The images went viral, and the Footwashing Series was born.
It captured the attention of millions of people as everyone waited to see themselves in the image, having their feet washed by Jesus. The exhausted mother, the young woman battling anxiety, the teenager too distracted by their phone to even notice Jesus washing their feet.
The footwashing seat is open for everyone.
Meet the Author + Artist ✍️ 🎨
Jessica Bond is the founder of Salt & Gold, creator of the viral Footwashing Series artwork and a communicator of the radical gospel through speaking, social media and ministry.
Originally from New Zealand, she moved to Australia in 2018. She has ministered in prisons, schools, nightclubs, underground churches and crocodile-infested mangroves.
Jess is a graduate of Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in California and calls the Catholic Church home.
